Here's to Another Batch of Olde No. 17 Irish Potato Stout Beer!

Olde No. 17 Beer LogoIn 2015, to mark the 40th anniversary of the parade, SaPaDaPaSo collaborated with Quinton McClain, owner of Lion Bridge Brewery in Czech Village, to release a special Irish potato stout called Olde No. 17, named by SaPaDaPaSo members. It was a dry Irish stout with an added 100 pounds of potatoes. Quinton made two 300-gallon batches of the limited-release seasonal brew, which was an instant hit.

Quinton has graciously agreed to brew another batch of Olde No. 17 this year! Its release is February 10, 2016, and it will be served at Lion Bridge Brewery, SaPaDaPaSo’s Irish Hooley, and the After-Parade celebration.

History

It all began on August 30, 1975, when WMT Radio announcer Dick Hardiman reported that it was only 200 days to St. Patrick’s Day.
